Site Mission:

The mission of this website is to give Dr. Wiess's prospective patients to find information about the lasik procedure, location of various facilities, and about Dr. Weiss's credentials. The services page gives the visitor information as to the lasik service provided. Additionally, it gives some information as to the benefits of the procedure. Doctor Weiss has been asked many questions concerning lasik surgery and on the FAQ page, visitors can see the questions that the doctor has been asked theomost. The maps page has links to additional pages that show location of the various facilities where Dr. Wiess can perform examinations. The search page will enable visitors to search the site for specific instances of words or phrases that they may be looking for. The feedback page will enable the visitor to respond to Dr. Weiss concerning her practice, website, or in general ask more specific quesitons.

Audience:

The audience for this website is for those individuals who are interested in having lasik eye surgery done to eliminate the need for glasses, but are not sure who to go to, and what qualifications the doctor (Dr. Weiss) may have.

Task Flow:

Generally speaking, the website is designed to be as flat a structure as possible. Web surfers do not want to have to go very deep to get information as they quickly become bored. The website will eventually feature a map link arrangement where the user will click on a map link and will be taken to an address mapping website where they will be able to generate a map of each location of Dr. Weiss's facilities. The services page will eventually have an appointment form that will give visitors the ability to arrange for an appointment with the doctor.

Advanced Features:

  • Used image hot spot links on all pages in reference to the buttons at the top of each page.
  • Used forms on the feed back page.
  • Used Flash animation on the index page.
  • Used behaviors on the index page as well as others within the site including this page where images fade out and others fade in, then the cycle repeat.
